BIOGRAPHY

Professor Magdalena Januszewicz is a radiologist and professor of medicine at Warsaw Medical University, where she currently serves as Head of the Department of Clinical Radiology. She earned her MD from Warsaw Medical University in 1981 and has been affiliated with its 2nd Department of Clinical Radiology ever since. She obtained her doctoral degree in 2001, was appointed associate professor in 2019, and was nominated professor of medicine by the President of the Republic of Poland in 2024.

Her clinical and research interests focus on imaging techniques, including ultrasonography, Doppler evaluation of vascular flow, CT, MRI, and endovascular treatment of renovascular hypertension. Her current research explores imaging and clinical aspects of renovascular hypertension, pheochromocytoma-paraganglioma syndrome, primary aldosteronism, and fibromuscular dysplasia (ARCADIA-Pol study), as well as malignant hypertension (TARGET MHT study). She also has a particular interest in resistant hypertension and its interventional management.

Professor Januszewicz is an active member of the Scientific Council of Warsaw Medical University and has closely collaborated with the European Society of Hypertension for over a decade, contributing to educational initiatives in ultrasound and Doppler imaging. She is the author and co-author of over 100 scientific publications, book chapters, and articles in leading journals such as Hypertension, Journal of Hypertension, Cardiovascular Research, JACC Imaging, and Kidney International.
